FAQ

The questions people ask before and just after adding the bot.

Is Umbyrx free?

Yes, to start. Every module is on the free tier, with limits on a few of them. Premium raises those limits and adds extras like random coin drops, from $1.99 for one server. No command is locked behind it.

Do I need slash commands?

No. Umbyrx runs on prefix commands, and the default prefix is -. Everything that would otherwise be a wall of config commands is on the dashboard instead. The bot does not register any slash commands at all.

How do I change the prefix?

In General Settings on the dashboard, or with -settings prefix <new>. A change made on the dashboard reaches the bot within about thirty seconds. If you forget the prefix, mention the bot and it will tell you.

Why is a command doing nothing?

Usually one of three things: you do not have the permission it needs, the bot does not have it either, or the Umbyrx role sits below the member you are acting on. Discord will not let any bot act on someone whose top role is equal to or above its own, so moving the Umbyrx role up in Server Settings fixes most of these.

Is my server data safe?

The bot stores what it needs to run the modules you turn on: settings, cases, activity counts and so on. It does not store message content, apart from messages inside a ticket when you save a transcript. There are no third-party trackers on this site. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Can I get my data deleted?

Yes. Ask in the support server and name the server the request is about so the right records can be found.

What happens if I remove the bot?

Your settings are kept, not deleted, so re-adding the bot later picks up where you left off. The server simply stops appearing as added on the dashboard.

Can I try it before inviting the bot?

The dashboard is the real thing. Sign in with Discord to see your servers, then add the bot when you are ready. Nothing changes in your server until you invite it and turn a module on.

Does it play music?

No. Umbyrx is moderation, protection, tracking and community tools. Music is a different kind of product with a different set of problems, and doing it badly is worse than not doing it.

Why is everything black and white?

Because a server bot should be readable, not decorative. Every panel the bot posts uses the same monochrome style, so you can scan a channel full of them without your eyes bouncing between six different embed colours.

Can I self-host it?

Not right now. Umbyrx is a hosted bot while the feature set is being finished.

How do I buy premium?

Ask in the support server. You pay by one of the methods offered there and are given a code, then you redeem that code in General Settings on the dashboard, against the server you want it on. Premium is not sold on this website, and the code is the only thing that turns it on.

Does premium renew automatically?

No. A code buys a fixed length and then premium stops. Nothing recurring is set up, so there is no subscription to cancel and no charge you did not ask for. When you want more, buy another code: redeeming it adds its time to the end of whatever is left.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 7 days of paying, as long as the premium features have not been used heavily in that time. Ask in the support server with the server involved and proof of payment. The money goes back the way it came, the code is cancelled and the premium comes off that server. After 7 days a code is not refundable and there is no partial refund for time left on it. The detail is in the terms.

Who makes Umbyrx?

Umbyrx is made by Global Battle Series, which is owned by three people: Sabi, Skonta and Gourav. The bot and the dashboard are built and maintained by Sabi, which is why the support server reaches the person who can actually fix what you are reporting. The three of them are on the about page.

How do I get help?

Join the support server. That is the fastest way to reach us with a question or a bug.

Still stuck?

The docs go module by module, the commands page lists every command with its permissions, and the support server is there for anything neither of those covers.
